​David Gillis has taught numerous financial wellness classes and webinars. He has also assisted individuals on a one-on-one basis that are living paycheck to paycheck as well as individuals that are living a financially independent life. He feels that his personal journey in life and the experience that he gained through volunteering has led him to form Spark Financial Wellness to show people they aren’t alone in their desire for financial wellness.

David holds a master's degree in Information Resource Management and retired from the Air Force in 2014 and lives in Omaha, Nebraska with his wife, Dena. He enjoys volunteering his time with various organizations including ChooseFI Nebraska, a community organization dedicated to financial independence, as well as Toastmasters and TEDxOmaha through which he has had the privilege of mentoring and coaching speakers as part of his role as a board member. ​
Dena Gillis
Director of Business Services
Dena Gillis has worked for businesses ranging from non-profits to advertising agencies to ecommerce for over 30 years. She has a diverse background in marketing, graphic design, bookkeeping, human resources and business management.

Dena holds a bachelor's degree in Marketing and Business Management as well as a master's degree in Business Administration and a graduate certificate in Accounting. She lives in Omaha, Nebraska with her husband, David. In addition to working for Spark, she is the Operations Manager for an ecommerce company and travel agent. She enjoys traveling with her husband particularly to Walt Disney World where David and Dena's daughter is a cast member. ​
